FLATS walk-through

Last week the Forest Lake Area Trail System steering committee met with architects from the Department of Natural Resources, and a representative from the National Park Service. We walked through what will be Phase 1 in the spring. That was easy, there is only one place where there will be a bridge and it was easy to walk around. Then we walked through what might be Phase 2. That was a little more challenging because if that is the route, there will need to be at least one bridge and cut-throughs of two berms.

Join FLATS!

Free membership to the Forest Lake Area Trail System (FLATS) is now available at www.kvflats.org. FLATS will connect Kirksville to Thousand Hills State Park via a 4 mile trail, eliminating the need for a 20 minute drive. It will also make the amenities within the park more accessible for walking and bicycling. Your free membership shows your support for this trail!
